Reviews: Warlocked, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 & Perfect Dark
Game Description: Warlocked is a real time strategy. Basically that means you are given tasks and missions, where you will have to mine for gold and cut down trees, then use these resources to construct building, leading to the augmentation of your troops so you can annihilate the enemy. There are four main types of characters; workers, who collect resources, knights, who attack using swords, archers, who attack using arrows and finally dragons, who are only vulnerable to arrows. But there's more! This game includes a total of 27 wizards, which all have specific powers that can help you on your journey, like raising the defense of your buildings. To collect all 27, you will have to trade with a friends via the infrared port on the Gameboy Color, and once a wizard dies in your game, you can't get him back until you replay the mission in which you got him. There are two different races to choose from, the beasts and the humans with a variety of missions to do for each campaign. You have full control of all your troops and you can group them for fast control when the action heats up. Gameplay value:Warlocked is really a lot of fun. Sometimes you will struggle with resources and fight against time to build up your army, but that's a part of the game. It's a blast when you find a dragon egg then watch him grow after you return him to the Main Hall, which is the most important part to defend in your base. The controls play a crucial part in this game because it requires fast response as you organize troops if you're going into battle or are under attack, but is developed well enough in this game. The only tiny problem is the tracking of the units in the game. Sometimes you will send your knight to a certain location, but then find out he's stuck walking in circles far away from the destination, so he needs some correcting. But it's not that much of a hassle. Plus the two player mode in this game is simply astonishing. You can link up to a buddy and play a one-on-one match with him where both of you will have to mine for resources and build armies to attack each other. Sound:The sound in Warlocked is unbelievable, my personal favorite of all Gameboy games. There are a ton of catchy tunes which vary depending which level you are playing. The coolest part is that once you click on a unit in the game, they will respond with something like "Yes sir?", "Attack!", or "At once master". The comments depend on which nit you click on. Warlocked also has the option to listen to all the songs and sound effects in the option menu.
