Many of you, I am certain, are familiar with the play by mail games. Company's such as Flying Buffalo, who have been in business, incredibly, since 1970 and Reality Simulations Inc. helped to bring players together from all over the world. Reality Simulations has been in operation since 1984.

Now Play By Email, or PBeM, for short, has brought this style of gaming from our snail mail boxes to our email boxes.

Imagine opening your email box everyday to find several letters, all a part of a role play you and several people from all over the world are playing. This is the reality of PBeM's. With a little experience, anyone can throw a PBeM together, it takes true talent and dedication to create something as detail oriented as Imperial Secrets.

The History:

Imperial secrets takes place in the world of Etherea. The history can best be told in the words of the creator, Janet Delacroix:

"There is always a beginning, just as there is always an end ... Etherea begins with the Immortals... In that time before time, the Immortals were as numerous as the stars and burned as brightly... Some few Immortals aspired to higher things. Although each individual was capable of creating much, together Immortals could sing greater songs and work greater works. These Immortals eventually made their way to Etherea. Under the leadership of Kyne, these Immortals worked to create the ball of elements we now call home... Kyne looked on this land and was pleased, and the other Immortals shared his pleasure. Still, they were not yet content with their work...Thus it was that the gathered Immortals came together for the greatest making yet...the Immortals pooled their energies and created the eight Eyes of Life...so great was the combined might of the Immortals that the Eyes could not contain it all. The roiling energies surged and spat in great lightning's. Where this lightning struck the newly shaped elements, gods were born...among the Immortals there was great joy ..With the Eyes, they set about the third and final great making. All the creatures of sea, sky, and land were made ...

Until this moment, the moment of the birth of man, there had been peace... "

One of the immortals, Zo, betrayed the others. He led his band of Deceivers to steal the Eyes, and take their power for himself. The immortals warred for millennium during this war the magical races were created, but Etherea was in turmoil, and could not long stand against the fearsome might of the immortal's war. Taking pity upon mankind, the gods came out of hiding. and protected man from certain destruction in the last battle of the Immortals. Kyne and his faction won and used their own ethereal forms as the prison for Zo and his cohorts. The land knew peace.
