All Suited Up (and somewhere to go...!)creamy tan color and a soft blue, until I was happy with the mottled effect it gave the entire piece, legs and all. It made it look heavy, sort of like stone, and at the same time, soft and warm. After the painting was complete, I decoupaged teddy bears cut out from wrapping paper onto the suitcase and the legs. I used Plaid Royal Coat Decoupage Finish, several coats, including one coat over the entire top of the suitcase. I turned that cardboard from the inside top into a little storage pocket with a towel and some hot glue. I covered the cardboard with one end of the towel and then cut off the other end and attached it to make a pocket -- just the perfect place for a little teddy bear to hide! Secure the cardboard back into place. I used a Silicone adhesive and weighed it down with several heavy books overnight to be sure that it was permanently attached. Apply a sealer to the entire project and give it ample time to thoroughly dry, probably several days, before it's used. Suitcases recycled into tables will work in any room, depending on the finish you choose. Take a look at the next suitcase you find -- with a little imagination, you can have a true one-of-a-kind table that no one could duplicate. Enjoy!
