Stay at Home Parenting NOT for the weak!It dawned on me while I was writing my last article and doing some Interent Research, that people still hold the dim view of stay at home mothers. I wanted to touch base on this topic in support of all those brave women (and sometimes men) who stay home to take care of the house and raise the children. When I was a working parent, I thougth only weak people stayed home and did not work. Little did I realize that being a full time parent is not for the faint hearted. It is never ending, demands your full attention and there is little if any recognition for the hard work that you do. When I first left full time employment, I was depressed because I did not get the perk of a weekly check, a pat on the back for a job well done, a good job review or any of the other postiive feedback I was accustomed to receiving from my employer and co-workers. Often I found myself just sitting down after doing an endless number of chores, errands and diapers to be asked, "Where are my socks?". I had to learn to affirm my own worth and value as a human being and not as a human doing. It was an interesting and worthwhile journey for me. I have returned to work full time again, and must say I miss my stay at home job very much. I have found some very wonderful sites for stay at home mothers (or fathers) that you can find listed below. I do hope that you will enjoy them! Before visiting these sites for support for yourself, while the world may bash you for "wasting" your potential and your time. I know that you are the force that keeps the neighborhood and residents safer by your presence! You contribute to schools and various other organizations because you can. I wish you the very best of succss in ANY venture you may undertake now and in the future. Working moms and stay at home moms UNITE! It's bound to make the world a better place! Internet Highlights
