The twilight of Summer

It's that time of year again....Time to get ready for school and a change of seasons. Being in a subtropical climate, we do not have such dramatic changes of season, however old habits die hard so we are preparing for Fall, even if only in "floridian fashion".

In my house this weekend, I have been rooting through my clothing. I have lost 35 pounds (go Atkins diet!) this past year and I still have some "fat" clothes that were hard to part with. They are gone! So is anything stained or otherwise not wearable in public.

We bought mad housecleaning supplies and some "smelly" stuff (I do not have time to make my own in the near future).

In all, we have generated three bags of trash from going through my clothing and the kid's clothing. This will certainly cut down on the laundry monster. (The beast that lives in my laundry room that grows twice as big every time I turn around).

We bought four tires for 210.00 for the car. While we won't "winterize" the car, we do have some items that just can not endure the climate (tires, windshield wipers etc.)

I know it's hot and humid, but start making a mental inventory of what you would like to accomplish before the cold weather sets in. Are you windows wintereized? Have you been meaning to insulate the hot water heater?

What about blankets? Do you have enough?

Now is the best time to plan for fall/winter.

Use some of that wonderful creativity to save yourself some hard earned money when the weather turns cold and all your feathered friends come to my house for the winter:)

Planning ahead is YOUR friend :)
