These items are designed to get you into the store to shop. They KNOW they will lose money by pricing these objects lower to get you into the store. They do this because they plan that once you are in the store you will buy some of the many products that are marked up to make up for the loss. It's actually VERY clever marketing on their part.
Buy the Sunday Paper and review the circulars for the stores in your area. Keep a small savings account for items you will need in the near future or would like to purchase. When you have done your research, and you are confident that a given price is the best you can do, you will be able to make the purchase with confidence.
