Monday - My ride picks me up for work and I pay for exactly fifteen dollars worth of gasoline. At the current time
I choose not to make a car payment and do not yet have enough saved up to buy a car outright. Fifteen dollars is far
less expensive than public transportation or a taxi.
Another benefit to walking is the fact that we can actually have conversation without distraction. Some mornings are tough, particularly if the kids are tired or not feeling 100% but most of the time we enjoy the walk and our time together. Tuesday Evening - Library Night! We all walk to the Library one and half blocks away where each child is responsible for picking their own books. I get mine first (so they behave!) and then we get theirs. This trip is followed by vigorous book reading, snack, and then bedtime. Best of all it's FREE! Wednesday Night - Bill paying (boo hiss) Actually it's good to pick one night to pay bills so that you avoid those pesky late fees that eat up half your payment. Thursday Night - My television/relaxation night. Most nights I am researching, writing, cleaning, doing laundry, kids' activities and/or church. My schedule is insane. Thursday is the one night you will find me laying on the couch watching tv mindlessly for at least one hour. Friday - I get the day off with pay for working late two nights! (What a great boss!) We go to the pet store and purchase a hermit crab and supplies for 23.00. I have the aquarium all ready to go at home. If we want to add to our "hermit crab" herd in the future, they only cost 3.98 per crab. The one we currently have is very people friendly and so cheap to feed (mine will not eat the hermit crab food and lives on apples, cheerios, and peanut butter). The same day I visit a favorite thrift store who also happens to be having a $5.00 a bag sale on clothing where I promptly buy 4 shirts, a jacket, a swimsuit for my sun, two shirts for my daughters, and a skirt. I also get three Go To Page: 1 2 |
