It's funny, in all my years of adult "fugality" I have never seen anyone cover this topic. It's sad because most frugals are passionate about the quality of their lives. Passion is transferable in that if you can be very passionate about other things as well.
While it would be nice to jet to Paris for the weekend, it's unrealistic to hang our hopes on that as most people will not ever have that opportunity (at least not without massive planning and budgeting). Take TIME with your spouse, kids or no kids, money or no money. If nothing else wait until all your kids are in bed sleeping and go out and starwatch together where distractions are minimal and neither party is competing with the television. Seize the moment and make the most of it. I think most people are suprised and possibly even slightly disappointed about what married life can become after several years, some children and some less than "up" times. It doesn't take much work to keep the magic going. Approach this challenge with the same vigor you would as getting everyone school clothes for the year, or cutting your food budget yet one more twenty dollars a week. This area of your life is just as important as the budget, the kids, and your future. Your happiness and the happiness of your spouse and children depend upon it! Go To Page: 1
