Gardeners are easy to please. It isn't hard to find suitable holiday gifts.

Why not start with courses at Suite University? Gardening courses include Planning and Caring For Your First Garden, Gardening the Square Foot Way, and Women Gardeners.

Fruit lovers always welcome items depicting fruits. For dinnerware look for Fruit Rapture, made by Mikasa. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has some lovely plates. In Target I spotted Italian Fruits and Wild Berries table linens.

Weatherproof wall plaques are suitable for indoors or out. They feature pears, clusters of grapes, and lemon topiaries.

I've also a very beautiful set of bamboo wind chimes decorated with pineapples. There are hummingbird feeders shaped like fruits, such as pears and strawberries.

A copy of Baer's Agricultural Almanac and Gardening Guide is always welcome. Gardeners will find it's packed with useful information, such as planting tables, gardening hints, and tips. Rainy Day Puzzles, made from wood, are available in various fruit themes, including grapes, apples and oranges. You can even order custom designed ones.

Any fruit lover would welcome the Dirty Hippie Soaps. Several of these feature fruits. They're suitable for vegetarians as they're plant-based. Max's Farm, with pumice and citrus, will help gardeners keep those hands clean.

Rittenhouse has numerous items to make the gardener's life easier, including the Tree Trainer and an All-Season wheelbarrow with a collapsible cloth body. It rests flat on the ground to minimize the need for lifting.

Gardeners always welcome plants and seeds. Consider a gift certificate from a seed company. Thompson & Morgan has seeds for Mignonette strawberries and other items that gardeners are sure to love.

Stationery featuring fruits and garden themes are always welcome, such as that from Acorn Designs. The New York Botanical Garden introduced a whole new line of stationery and garden-related items, like notecubes, mugs, magnets, and an exquisite 2003 Engagement Calendar. These products depict fruits and other botanical art of Georg Dionysius Ehret, from his book called Plantae Selectae, published in the 1700's.

C & T Publishing has matching address labels and quilt-themed paper suitable for printing, typing, or writing. Willow Creek Press has a very useful, high quality journal called The Gardeners Journal by Penelope Hobhouse.

Gardening Notes and Quotes, published by Helen Exley Giftbooks, is illustrated with sumptious garden art and literary quotations from Bacon, Emerson, and others. There's lots of space for garden records and notes. For stocking stuffers or hostess gifts look for Exley's Garden Quotations and The Crazy World of Gardening.
