Several commercial flower or plant growers created living flags. Bodger Seed, located in Lompoc, California, planted a floral American flag. It is planted on the corner of South V Street and West Ocean Avenue in Lompoc. It consists of seven acres of larkspurs. They used different colors of flowers to form the flag.

The actual dimensions are 390 feet wide and 740 long, which was the size set by an executive order. This isn't the first American flag that Bodger has created. They did one after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

To truly appreciate this floral flag one needs to fly over it or to see aerial pictures. On the other hand we can read the letters formed by the hay bales more easily.

Gardeners are eager to participate in community activities. All these different programs give them various ways in which they can do that.
