10 Frugal Ways to Help Your Child Master Multiplication

You think you have taught the toughest subject when your child finally masters phonics, then you stumble across a little thing called multiplication. Don't panic...it can be done and there are a lot little methods, charts, games, and flashcards that can help you get your child on his or her way.

A Printable Multiplication Table

My son had a ruler with a tiny multiplication table on it. He received it at church but I think they ordered it from Oriental Trader. He carried that ruler around until it disintegrated. Many math books will have a chart in the back. This is a great way to start. Print out many of these and stick them to their notebooks, the front of the Nintendo, the bathroom wall.

Saxon Multiple Counting Practice

This is a good one to count through a certain times table. You click on a large number chart, for instance I chose fives so clicked on 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, etc.

This is set up like a flashcard game where you can pick your level of ability. You answer the question and it tells you whether you were right or not.
