Frugal Pregnancy Helpers!

Recently I have been surprised with the knowledge that I am having another baby, and so pregnancy helpers are very topical for me right now! One of the first problems in pregnancy, I find, is tiredness and nausea. No doubt a lot of you out there find the same!

Nausea What helps with this depends with each pregnancy and each person. Here are items that can help: - Ginger (Fresh sliced ginger in a ceramic, glass or pottery teapot. Let sit 10-15 minutes.) - Homeopathic remedies for morning sickness - Crackers can help. Eat a few and see. - Herbal teas can help. Especially chamomile, peppermint, and raspberry leaf) - Can be a good idea to try eliminating tea if you're a tea drinker. This can make some pregnant ladies very sick! A good herbal tea to try is Red Bush Tea - it can be drunk with milk and Sweetener. - Filtered water can be a good idea also. I've often noticed when pregnant the awful metallic taste of tap water and it hasn't helped me when I'm nauseous! Filtered water has helped me feel much better!

Tissue Salts to take during pregnancy Information I've found recommends: Calc. Fluor. 6c - Helps prevent stretch marks and varicose veins, good for tooth enamel. (take 1, twice daily, all through pregnancy) Ferr. Phos. 6c - Strengthens blood vessels and arteries, and helps prevent anaemia. (take 1, twice daily, in months 2, 5, 6 & 9) Mag. Phos. 6c- Alleviates spasms and cramps. (take 1, twice daily, in months 2,3, 6 & 7) Nat. Mur. 6c - Helps cope with metabolic changes of pregnancy. Prevents and cures dry skin, heartburn, swollen ankles, and cravings for salty foods. (take 1, twice daily, in months 3. 4, 7 & 8) Silica 6c - Good for the blood, skin, hair and nails. (take 1, twice daily, in months 4, 5, 8 & 9.)

Pain Relief in Labour Some suggestions I've come across are: HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES: Caulophyllum 6c, Chamomile 6c (for when the pain seems too much to bear). HERBAL TEAS: Raspberry leaf tea - also helps to bring down the afterbirth, Alfalfa tea (also known as Lucerne) - a cup daily, in the last few weeks before your baby is due, will help improve your chances of an easy labour as your muscles will be well toned and strong.

Keeping Cool in Summer! Something I'll be trying this summer is barley water! I will be in my last trimester during the summer months and this is recommended to help cope with the heat much better! It is also recommended for baby too, because barley water is mild and bland and cleansing. (Barley water is rich in iron, in the B vitamins and in all the minerals.)
