I have found a simple, frugal way to lose weight and thought I'd share it with you. There are three main steps you will need to take. It is simple, but not easy!
The first step is: EAT ONLY WHEN YOU'RE HUNGRY You will find if you really pay attention when you're eating (which a lot of us have forgotten how to do!) that there are many times when you eat that you are not hungry. These are often times of stress, upset, or boredom. You can overcome this bad habit by learning to do a positive new activity instead of eating such as: going for a walk, crocheting, gardening, doing housework (may not look forward to this one, but it is nevertheless positive!), sketching - just about any hobby or craft you enjoy that you may not have done for years! Another point to be aware of, here, is the fact that if you wait to eat until you are hungry you will also then know when you have eaten enough. Plus, you will find that you will be more interested in 'healthy' foods. You will be naturally drawn to vegetables and meat and fruit, etc. It is a good idea generally to find ways to cut the fat down in your diet for your health's sake - but, please, don't worry about fat grams! You will find you will quickly get into a diet mentality if you do this, and you'll be happier if you don't go there! The second step is: EAT SLOWLY This is something we have usually gotten out of the habit of, and yet it is very good for our digestion! And, therefore, good for your health. It also helps us to learn to be aware when we have eaten enough. If we are not shovelling in the food (without thinking) we will become aware when we have had enough. The third step is: INCREASE YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Walk to the shops or the library, go for a bicycle ride, and walk up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. If you enjoy dance aerobics you can do this at home with any lively music with a good beat. Even marching on the spot for 10 minutes is great. For fitness you can do 3 x 10-min. lots in your day and it counts toward increasing your fitness level. Make it simple and fun to live with! Go To Page: 1 2
