Getting StartedStep 3: Make your shopping list. This is a very important step when you are doing bulk cooking. There is nothing more annoying than getting into the rhythm of cooking and finding out you a missing a key ingredient. I use the recipes and make the shopping list to include everything listed on the recipes, including spices and seasonings. I'll first "shop" in my kitchen cabinets and pull out everything I already have and put it on the countertop, or in a laundry basket if I'm not cooking for a couple of days. I'll mark those items off the shopping list. Usually I discover I have at least half the nonperishable ingredients for my session in the cabinets. Step 4: shopping. Remember to buy everything on your list. I often go to the store, work my way through the entire store and am ready to check out when I realize I missed one item. It's very tempting to say "never mind," however, the reality is that if you say that, you'll end up having to stop cooking the next day and run to the store. Now you are ready to cook. Don't try and do it the day you do the shopping, you will get tired very quickly, frustrated and chances are high you may not finish. Watch for the next article: Hamburger mini-session
