Loose Ends

I make a point of running it every time I've installed something new.

Along the way in this series of articles I've talked about Anti - Virus programs and Download Manager Utilities... there's not all that many good freeware ones around. Thanks to my mate Arnvid Aakre over in Professional Travel here's a couple of new ones that look to be very good.

eScorcher Anti-Virus

It looks to be fully featured and includes free updates.

Star Downloader

"Star Downloader is a download accelerator that can increase download speeds by up to 400 percent. Unlike similar applications, it is completely free. It does not contain any banner ads or spy-ware.

The acceleration is achieved by splitting the file being downloaded into several parts and downloading these parts at the same time. Download speeds are further increased by downloading the file from the fastest mirror sites."

This series of articles has reminded me that questions can be simple and short but answers can be a lot longer and more complicated. So what else is new when it comes to computers!?

It never puts me off getting the questions... how else do I get to find out how much I've learned and how much I know. It also tells me what I don't know, and that's just as important. The frequently asked questions always keep repeating so before too long I'll grab another one off the top of the list.

See you next month.
