I'm Granny KOZ, and if you take a look at this tutorial, you'll be right smarter when creating your own Family Shoebox. Good ol' Granny has whipped up these lessons just for you. In each section, you will find information on creating your Shoebox and making it as cool as it can be.
As I said, very folksy.
All in all the site offers just about everything you would expect these days but the offer of unlimited space is a bonus. If you're planning on building a home page with lots of graphics and particularly photographs this could be the place for you.
As with a lot of places they encourage you to pick a channel which suits the basic flavour of your site and of course you do have to become a member.
The home page contains a text box with pretty simple instructions on how to get started and indeed "Granny" seems to work hard everywhere to provide lots of help and instruction.
Go and take a look round. I'm not aware of any other hosting service offering unlimited space but I'm sure this will become the norm before too long. If there are others around please let me know.
Trend setters like this don't seem to stay out front for very long. I'm reminded of another article of mine some time ago to do with the new idea of free computers.
As the novelty of this has decreased in proportion to the increase in the number of offers I thought I would take a look round to see how the dust is settling.
This special report on c/net caught my attention as offering a very good round up of what's available out there and a few opinions. As you will see, they delve not only into free hardware but free Internet connections as well. If this idea appeals to you... and let's face it there's some attraction for all of us then it's important to check all the facts... and the fine print.
