What a Mess
This is the time for new year resolutions and mine is to do some clean up work here. If nothing else it takes my mind off the dreaded one... quitting smoking... maybe next year! I intended to start with the sad fact that a few had to be removed because they have gone from being Freeware to that place down there reserved for Shareware. (Hey lighten up a little, a programmer has to feed his family and they don't ask for big bucks!) What I need to do is apologise for not having added to them to the list in the first place. So much for me being the well organised guy... sigh. As I've been using them since my earlier reviews, I'll give them one last honorable mention. Rain / Waterfall. ClosePopup. A while back I switched from using MTUspeed to iSpeed to fine tune my Internet connection setup. Why didn't I tell you earlier? Nothing wrong with the original program!... I just like to change things from time to time, stops me from getting bored! Both do a fine job so I list both of them and you have a choice. Both need that rocket science degree to understand them but they also offer idiot proof settings. The last one I added is Avirmail, and as I only told you about this program last week I reckon I'm up to date. Take a look at how the list is looking now... It's fashionable to pick a winner from a list at the end of the year so why shouldn't I give you my favorite for 1998? To throw you a curve ball (not bad for a limey) I'll give you one that's not even on the list... yet: StarOffice.
