What's Out There?

I have also found numerous sites devoted entirely to freelance writing and editing, graphic arts & design and, I am proud to announce, I found one site devoted entirely to bookkeeping: http://www.bookkeeperjobs.com. It appears to have a limited number of listings but I continue to check it regularly.

A new and exciting type of freelance site is found at http://www.myvirtualcorp.com. My Virtual Corp takes freelance work a step further. Instead of the client/buyer posting a project and taking the time and energy to find the best person at the best price, the client deals directly with My Virtual Corp, in effect placing the project in their capable hands. The freelance professionals have already been pre-screened by MVC and given a series of internal projects to determine if they are the highest quality worker. Almost all of these sites require that you be a member. Then you must sign in and bid on the project. I feel that it is quicker and more efficient to visit the posting sites myself. And that leads to the second reason I stay away from these sites. I am completely depending upon another person to list the opportunities. What if I somehow miss a great project because it didn’t get placed in the clearinghouse? Additionally, I often find listings for the latest ‘get rich quick by working from home’ plan or MLM. I have had to change my email address because of the amount of MLM opportunities I
