Ramp Networks (http://www.rampnet.com), a provider of shared Internet access for small offices, has sold Insty-Prints, Inc., on its WebRamp products. The solution recently became the franchise's recommended connectivity solution for Insty-Print's franchisees. WebRamp Internet access hardware will allow Insty-Print franchisees improve their Internet access and streamline business operations.

Insty-Prints will recommend the WebRamp products to its 275 franchises nationwide to help them save time and money on day-to-day management operations. Franchisees can select the WebRamp 310I or WebRamp 410I-affordable, easy-to-0use routers that offer a full range of enterprise-class functionality. The analog WebRamp 310I and ISDN-ready WebRamp 410I both include software for virtual private networking for secure Internet use and remote dial-in for telecommuter access.

The Internet has fundamentally changed the way franchises, dealerships and company-owned branch offices conduct business. Integrating e-commerce and information sharing between partner offices and corporate headquarters enhances customer service, improves efficiency and provides real-time financial reporting and inventory management. The WebRamp products are an ideal choice for partner offices, allowing all users on the local area network to securely access the Internet or use extranet applications without incurring unnecessary expenses associated with separate servers or additional phone lines.

"The WebRamp allows franchises to 'e-partner' with other franchises, headquarters and suppliers, fully leveraging the Internet to communicate with one another to more efficiently run their businesses," says Patty Burke, vice president of marketing for Ramp Networks. "We've worked closely with Insty-Prints to enable their franchisee sites to benefit from secure, business-to-business extranets."

The typical Insty-Prints printing center has a combination of Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows desktops on an Ethernet network. The WebRamp gives all computers fast Internet access and the ability to securely access applications and files at other franchises, including sharing valuable resources such as high-resolution printers and file servers. Franchises can connect to their local Internet Service Provider through up to three analog phone lines with the WebRamp 310I or use an ISDN connection on the WebRamp 410I if their area supports ISDN.

"Ever since we first installed and tested the WebRamp, we've been impressed by the product's ease of use and functionality," says Alex Raupp, pre-press product manager at Insty-Prints. "Because most business printing centers do not have an on-site network administrator, trouble-free installation and virtually zero maintenance were key factors during our product selection. The WebRamp meets the specific needs of our business printing centers at an affordable price."
