Your feedback is important to us as we strive to ensure that all our guests can fully enjoy their shopping experience in our stores.

Ms. Rorem, again my apology. I appreciate you taking your time to bring this matter to my attention. Please accept the enclosed gift card as a gesture of our goodwill. Perhaps you can come back after the Holiday Season to shop with us again. The card can also be used at any Target or Mervyn's store.

Sincerely,

Susan Shelton Guest Relations"

It was nice of her to respond and acknowledge that there was a problem, but like so many other businesses, Marshall Field's doesn't get the core problem. The "fragrance sampling" doesn't stop after the Holiday Season. Positioning the perfume counters at every entrance is good for business but bad for my - and your - health. I took this one step further. I sent e-mails to the television news shows 20/20 and Dateline. I think this topic would be a good one for those shows, don't you?

I'll keep you up-to-date on what, if anything, happens with these shows. If someone contacts me about this I'll tell you. Next month, unless there's more on this, the topic will be Perfume and Your Pet. See you then!
