Fourth Estate Adventurists and Guardians are researchists. They are driven, desiring to learn every aspect of any topic that befalls their microscope of investigation.
If a Fourth Estate Guardian goes out to eat a meat and potatoes fare, they need to know who the farmer was that raised the cow that constitutes the meat. Then, they want to know what the farmer fed that cow. Next, where that cow was purchased along with the farming methods utilized to turn the animal into a consumable product is a favorable information base. The FEG needs to learn whether eating meat, or not eating meet, is a necessary component of proper nutrition. The FEG wants to know the type of potatoes the restaurant purchases where they intend to dine. They also want to know where those potatoes were grown. The irrigation methods used in addition to any herbicides sprayed on those crops play a role in the Fourth Estate Guardian's understanding of their meal. They want to know all this before they consume what may actually be their favorite fare. The Fourth Estate practitioner researches health department ratings for establishments they entertain in. They ascertain where the chef attended college, whether or not she or he attended college, whether she or he is a work release chef. The FEG is interested in the proprietor, the ethics of the establishment, and possibly the character of the waiter and/or waitresses. All these things together impart not only the important role of presentation, but also the design and effect or joy they experience in their consumption of "meat and potatoes." You may say, "that is a lot to think about just to have a meal out." Is it really, though? Or is it intellectual dining? You may believe intellectualizing a meal is a bit much. With various reports shared through the media we gain worthwhile facts and those sometimes convey into lifesaving tidbits. To a true Fourth Estate Guardian this is second nature. A second nature that drives people around us bonkers. Nonetheless-FEGs are the first souls these same folks come to when they wonder how the newest avant-garde restaurant or club in the city pans out. We know folks laugh at our obsessiveness. That they clamor to gain some of our knowledge base as well. Do we feel special? No. Not generally. Are we driven? Yes. Most assuridly. We have to know facts behind missions. We have to know who wrote the mission. We need to understand the psyche of the mission generator. We need to determine who asked for the mission or if they invented it themselves. Go To Page: 1 2
