Christmas Cheer Contest Winner

"Essay's Angel"

By: Angela Epps

My task is simple - to change those who oppose.

My words are formed to hinder those.

My message written down for all to hear;

My truths ring out - loud and clear.

Anything different, someone dare's to celebrate;

Is met with disdain, overcoming is great.

The spirit of the season long ago, in time, lost.

We're left with only commercial cost.

Worldly stories and legends are forever retold,

Around generations, the young and old.

I'm a guardian to the reasons and rhyme behind,

The ignorance that comes with being blind.

I will set out, with visions, to make things right.

Peace is not gained by a "silent" night.

Here is the Fourth Estate Christmas Cheer Poetry winner. Although Ms. Epps is the lone submitter winning by default it is the Contributing Editor's opinion that she tackled a difficult contest requirement in fine fashion.

Thank you Angela for this submission and for taking the time. Congratulations!
