The New World Order, ninth in a ten-part series on Global Constructs

According to George W. Bush Sr. and James Baker, we entered into one of these "rare, transforming moments of world history. A new era full of promise-a new world order." They proclaimed the New World Order is based on international law, global justice, and peace. For the first time in a myriad of years, the United Nations, which underwent serious changes in the past two decades the press tells us, will be able to seriously undertake its peace-keeping role. Now that the Cold War is over, the United Nations is no longer impeded by what were viewed as automatic Russian vetos and/or the sometimes irrational behavior of various Third World nations. They ascribe to the ideology that in this new era the United Nations has more control and promise.

The "New World Order" has been a prominent conspiracy theory for decades. Here and now, as the new millennium dawns, the New World Order has become a globally recognized political concept, and as such it can no longer be regarded simply as a theory. Many Christians purport that the New World Order is the beginning of the One World System and therefore a part and participle of the Book of Revelations, which fortells that this one world system will have armaggedon-type results. Many Christians assume we are in the end days as foretold in the Bible, with a one world government now becoming possible, and less remote of a plausible concept than it has ever been throughout recorded history. As such, the prevailing thematic of the Book of Revelation addresses their notion of concordance with the biblical prophecies as translated by the Christian populace. This is a scarey representation, though, for the sheer fact that throughout recorded history every centurian who has been Christian has felt that they were in the "end times." We cannot denote, therefore, a blanket prescription to any political and/or systemic agenda.

There are some theorists who believe that the New World Order is not a bad ideology. Most of these individuals seem to hail from the upper echelons of leadership in both private and public sectors in a global synergy. The problem with world leadership determining the direction and stance in a world view is that they are oftentimes removed from the masses. These individuals do not always participate on a community level (except in their "own" communities) and they haven't got a true sense of what the general populace desires. It isn't always clear that world leadership desire to fulfill the goals of the general populace. This goes even as far as to admit that many leaders believe the general population is unaware in what their true needs are and unprepared to represent themselves. A certain reliance on ignorance of the mainstream humanity is at times counted on by World Leadership, and when this is true these individuals sometimes feel that providence is in their purposes, which is a queer situation when coupled with powerful positioning.
