^^ On the publisher's mind ^^

The cat show last weekend was such a treat. We saw a Maine coone, Persians, Siamese, Tonkinese (a Siamese and Burmese blend) and many more wonders of creation. One of the Persians was really warming up to Stewart. She was meowing sweetly and rolling around inside her cage, arching her back, really enjoying having her head stroked. Stewart thought she really liked him. Then the woman one cage over told us that the cat was in heat, and was responding to Stewart's "maleness." That made us all blush, I'm sure.

We watched some of the judging. Stewart's cousins were there with their American shorthairs, who were calm and proud and beautiful in their cages, waiting for the judge to pluck them out of it and manhandle them on the judging platform. Some of the judges made a little performance out of it, pointing out the desirable qualities of certain breeds, what makes particular cats superior. We were so proud to see our cousins win ribbons!

Cats to me are such symbols of love, and there was so much love there that day that I started to get misty eyed. And every time I think about it, all those beautiful, loving cats and proud, proud owners, I get misty all over again.

Stay mindful, Jan

^^ Food for thought ^^

A widely reported and massive long-term study of male physicians who took vitamin E, vitamin C and multivitamins has concluded that taking those supplements didn't significantly lower their changes of cardiovascular disease or coronary heart disease.
