I adore Argentine movies for two reasons: (1) I lived there in the '80s for seven months when I finished high school; and (2) my mother was from Argentina.

Let me explain a little history for those of you who did not know this. In 1982, Argentina and Great Britain were at war over the Falkland Islands. Argentineans feel that they support this island, as well as it being off their coast, so therefore they already "own" The Falkland Islands. But, The Falkland Islands are a British colony. When my mother went to school in Argentina, she was educated in English and in Spanish. When she attended her Spanish school classes, she learned that "Las Malvinas son Argentinas" (The Falklands are Argentine). When she attended her English classes, she learned of The Falkland Islands which were a British colony. To add to this, when I lived there in 1985-1986, there were numerous street signs as you left Ezeiza airport stating what my mother learned: Las Malvinas Son Argentinas.

Now for the plot summary!

Fabian saves all of his money so he can carry out his plan: If 500 Argentines go to the Falklands every year and impregnate women from the Falkland Islands, then soon the island will be over-run with Argentine children, and hence the islands will then be Argentina's.

The movie shows him looking for the appropriate woman. He has an affair with her without explaining his goal. There is a graphic sex scene, too.

The entire movie is filmed "camcorder-style," as I call it. The two main actors go by their real names. These two added affects that make you think several times: Is this real or is this a movie?

I have to say, I did not care for this movie at all. The overall plot turned me off, the acting was mediocre at best, and the "camcorder-style" taping made me dizzy. I would not recommend this movie. I would not buy this movie. I would not rent this movie, nor would I see it again. I could think of better ways to spend 90 minutes of my life.

If you want to see excellent Argentine movies, you can see: Son of the Bride, Nine Queens, Burnt Money, The Official Story and many more!
