The Royal Collection comprises priceless works of art and artifacts held by The Queen in trust for the Nation and displayed at the Royal Palaces and residences in England and Scotland. Designs inspired by Royal Collection pieces or motifs are used in the commission of commemoratives and souvenirs for sale exclusively at the Royal residence shops and online. Monies raised from sales at the residences go towards the upkeep of the art and artifacts in the Royal Collection which is administered by the Royal Collection Trust under the presidency of the Prince of Wales.

Travelsleuth's Travel Tips
BUCKINGHAM PALACE/QUEEN'S GALLERY/ROYAL MEWS: A visit to Buckingham Palace and the Queen's Gallery are obviously a must during Jubilee Year. The Palace is open to the public from 5 August - 29 September. The Queen's Gallery reopens in May after an 18 month refit with n with a glittering inaugural exhibition of 450 items. If you intend to see the Palace, Queen's Gallery and Royal Mews you need to give yourself an entire day and expect to be exhausted and suffering from a Palace overdose of by the end of it. I recommend splitting your visit into two. The stunning new Queen's Gallery and the Royal Mews with 'All the Queen's horses' can be seen together on one day and the Palace with its gardens on a separate occasion. Budget at least three hours for the Palace with an extra half hour or more if you intend to browse in the Palace shop set up in the gardens. For my money it is the classiest souvenir shop in London. Check out my article on visiting Buckingham Palace.
