Part 3

Styrofoam
Most stryrofoam does not have much recycling potential.......but it can be reused! The most common sources of stryrofoam come from meat/food trays, egg cartons, and packing peanuts. Some companies have seen the low potential of recyclability of packing peanuts and have developed biodegradable forms of packing peanuts, made from things like cornstarch. Thumbs up to those types of companies who are thinking about the environment. Let's do our part as well - and have some fun with the styrofoam that comes into our kitchen.

Styrofoam Stamps - make your own personalized stamps without paying the high price of rubber stamp kits.

Shrink Art - Instead of shrinking plastic, use the same technique with styrofoam meat trays.

Packing Peanut Art - Sondra has gotten creative with the biodegradeable packing peanuts to create original artwork.

Styrofoam Dove Ornament - Did you ever think that something so beautiful could come from your trash?

Styrofoam Printing - Engraving and embossing are techniques you learn to examine your own likes and dislikes with this project.

Now it seems that there are so many crafts and so little time when you get to recycling your styrofoam. Have fun!
