Cupcake in an Orange
Thrill your tastebuds with a zesty treat! And after you complete this terrific craft, you get to eat it up! Materials:
- Cake mix
- Oranges
- Aluminum Foil
- Sharp knife
- Ladle
Directions:
- Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions. Duncan Hines cake mixes bake up the best for this recipe.
- Cut a 2-inch diameter slice from the top of each orange. check the back of the box for the number of cupcakes that the mix will make.......this will be how many oranges you will need. Do NOT throw out the orange top.
- Scoop out the insides of the orange, leaving the clean rind. Be sure to hold onto the pulp from the oranges for another recipe.
- Ladle cake batter into each orange, filling only two-thirds of each.
- Place each orange in the center of a square of aluminum foil. Place the top of each orange back on top of the filled orange. Bring all four corners of the foil together, encircling the orange, and twist at the top to close.
- Place oranges on a cookie sheet and put in a 350-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Allow oranges to cool before removing aluminum foil wrap.
- Unwrap, remove orange top and enjoy!
