April Fool's Day, the perfect opportunity to break out of your normal rut and try something unique, daring, yes, even foolish! Or maybe it's the right time to pay others back for an experience better left forgotten? Either way, these links can help make your April 1st extra special.

Whether you crave some adventurous eating or are looking for a recipe for that special someone, truly unique vittles await you at: Zhiyong's Bug-Eating Page, Iowa State's Insect Recipes and Orkin's Bug Recipe page. (Really, no foolin'!) A nice batch of Bug-Blox or even Wax Moth Trail Mix could be just the thing to startle a friend! These recipes may seem a bit extreme to some, but bug-eating isn't as strange as you might think. There are more cultures in the world who use insects in everyday cooking than those who do not. We Westerners are mundane eaters compared to most. When you think about the food choices available in the wilds of an African dessert, insects start to look pretty tasty!

A sweeter and altogether more appealing way of celebrating April Fool's Day can also be found on the Web. Here are three different recipes for Fool. These recipes come from the Yum-Yum recipe site.

Fool is a fruit dessert made from mashed fruit with cream and/or custard. The perfect thing for a warm Spring day!

Remember to beware on April 1st. Watch what you eat!
