Introducing Myself

Wow, this happens fast! I was convinced to become an editor at Suite 101 by my good friend Deborah Jeter (music education editor). I selected flute as my topic because it was my major instrument in college, and is still my passion today, although I teach elementary music full-time. I have several private flute students, and actually enjoy the pace of preparing them for different festivals and competitions! I'm also planning to start lessons myself, and am preparing for my first recital in about 14 years. I'm hoping that those of you with a passion for flute will enjoy the topics that I cover, which will run the gamet from playing to performing, history to repairing, etc., etc., etc.! If anyone has any suggestions for topic ideas, please feel free to include your ideas on the discussion page, or e-mail me. Break out those flutes, get practicing, and please check back with me in a couple of weeks, when my first "authentic" article will be on homepages of flute recording greats.
