Aeonium decorum, growing to 1 foot, is an especially attractive winter-blooming species. When in bloom, the center leaves, which are ordinarily green edged in red, blush cream. The flowers in the same color add to the drama. A. 'Sunburst' is a choice new cultivar which has green, pink, and yellow variegated rosettes.

Aeonium canariense, also called the velvet rose, is very nice but is very difficult to find. Another widely available species is A. haworthii, commonly known as the Pinwheel Aeonium. Pictures of both can be viewed at the Flora Canaria web site at http://www.guiaverde.com/arboles/Floraca...
