The Appeal of Succulents

Textures vary, too. Some leaves are furry like velvet, and others have ferocious spines, such as Agave parryi. One of the more interesting succulents is Sempervivum arachnoideum, which forms dense mats that resemble spider webs. Senecio serpens is another striking succulent, with ice-blue, needle-like foliage.

As you explore the different types of succulents, I'm sure you'll see the exciting possibilities their color, texture, size and shape can bring to your garden.

In my next few articles, I'll discuss in greater detail some of my personal favorites.
