At the Wine Not winery, located at 5116 East Fowler avenue, you can sample a variety of their wines, all made onsite. Once you make a selection, you fill up your own bottle, select a label, personalize it, attach it to your bottle of wine and you're good to go. What a great gift idea for a birthday or wedding or a perfect souvenir of your time in Florida that can be enjoyed once you're back home!
The winery imports over 40 varieties of grapes from all over the world so that the selection of flavors is extensive.
If you're interested in ordering multiple bottles (30 minimum), once you determine which wine you want, you can add herbs and fruit to the wine making it your own signature vintage.
The grapes used will determine the length of time needed for aging the wine and also determines the pricing. There are three pricing tiers. Reserva is ready to drink within weeks and is the least expensive. Classic wine, mid-range pricing, needs at least six months to age but can be enjoyed before 6 months, and Terrior, which is country specific, is the most expensive. Once the aging is completed, you will return to the winery to pick up the goods which have been bottled, corked and labeled (your choice of label). Price includes bottles, corks, labels and taxes.
Certified and licensed consultants are on hand to help you make the right decision. The wine list is extensive and includes crisp white wines such as Zinfandel Blush, French Colombard, Liebfraumilch, Johannesburg Riesling, and Pinot Grigio. The heartier red wines include such favorites as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chianti, Merlot, Shiraz and Bourgeron, while the fragrant specialty and sweet wines include Black Cherry Pinot Noir, Blackberry Merlot, Peach Chardonnay and Tropical Riesling. These are just a few of the possibilities when concocting your special wine.
So, for a fun afternoon out of the Florida sun, my mom highly recommends the Wine Not winery as a respite from the crowds and traffic, and a great place to enjoy some luscious grapes!
