There’s a new kind of theme park in the Orlando area. You’ll pay more, you’ll get wet – but odds are you’ve have one of the most memorable times of your life.
Discovery Cove at Sea World Orlando is a hands-on, in-the-water experience. Sea World’s publicity department calls it a “hands-on opportunity to train and care for a variety of unique animals.” You’ll call it lots of fun. “Trainer for a Day” participants work side-by-side with Discovery Cove animal experts as they interact with dolphins, birds, sloths, anteaters, sharks, stingrays and tropical fish. From personal training sessions to food preparation, participants learn first-hand how the Discovery Cove zoological team maintains the health and well-being of these incredible animals. And, Discovery Cove’s “Trainer for a Day” program can be catered to fit the individual interests of each participant by offering additional time in a desired animal area. The full-day program includes: · Reserved dolphin swim, followed by an enhanced dolphin interaction and training encounter. · Guided snorkeling tour and feedings in the Coral Reef and Ray Lagoon. · Feeding and care of exotic birds in the free-flight Aviary. · Behind-the-scenes small-mammal playtime and training session. · Behind-the-scenes animal food preparation and record review. The “Trainer for a Day” package also includes unlimited access to the Coral Reef, Ray Lagoon, Resort Pool, Tropical River and Aviary; freshly prepared meal; complimentary use of snorkel equipment, wet suits, towels and lockers; self-parking at Discovery Cove and a seven-day unlimited-use pass to SeaWorld Orlando. The Discovery Cove package costs $369 plus tax. Participants must be in good physical condition and at least 6 years old. All participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
