Street at the Plaza, a 1.26 million-square-foot, enclosed shopping center with an adjacent 112,000-square-foot outdoor lifestyle/entertainment center, will debut Sept. 14. The plaza, located on the southeast edge of the Tampa International Airport at the intersection of Westshore Boulevard and Boy Scout Boulevard, will feature two full levels in the enclosed shopping center. The outdoor center, Bay Street at the Plaza, will be reminiscent of a vibrant village plaza with restaurants and outdoor cafes, fountains and street entertainment. 31. The Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) in Tampa has three major exhibitions that show how science can happen in you own backyard. MetLife Foundation’s "The Amazing You" explores the human body; "Our Place on the Planet" focuses on environmental factors of the state; and "Our Place in the Universe" introduces guests to space, flight and beyond. In addition, the IMAX Dome Theatre at MOSI will feature two new films. "Ocean Oasis" (March 16-Aug. 30) is a closer look at the enchanted life of Sierra San Pedro Martir and the desert shores of the Baja California peninsula. Visitors also can experience the film "Journey into Amazing Caves" (May 25-Nov. 15) in which a film crew shadows scientists through unexplored chambers. 32. TradeWinds Island Resorts in St. Pete Beach offer guests a variety of dining options for families and couples including the new additions of the TradeWinds Island Grand’s Old Florida Shrimp Shack, a whimsical 1940s seafood shack, and Awakenings Coffee and Spirits Bar, a spirited gourmet coffee bar. The new menu at the upscale Palm Court Bistro combines contemporary eclectic with traditional favorites. An enhanced menu at Bermudas allows guest to savor exciting taste temptations. The adjoining B.R. Cuda’s has been converted into a family-friendly sports lounge and is the place on St. Pete Beach to watch the big game. Guests can also enjoy frosty beverages and specialized rums at TradeWinds Sirata Beach Resort’s RumRunners. Southwest Florida 33. The one-millionth patron walked through the doors of Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers Jan. 17. Since its opening in 1993, more than 100 productions have been staged at the entertainment venue, performing for approximately 150,000 guests annually. 34. The Edison-Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers has been chosen as an official project of Save America’s Treasures, a partnership between the White House Millennium Council and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
