The Clear Fork Valley Foundation, a private non-profit corporation, is an endowment fund for academic scholarships and grants. We are dedicated to encouraging academic achievement and promoting excellence in education for students of all levels and abilities.
The goals of the Foundation are to encourage both students and educators: To strive for excellence in education To embrace educational challenges, and To develop skills that prepares them for their future roles as valued community members, and business and community leaders. Foundation grant and scholarship programs are established on the following premises: The need for education exists regardless of an individual's race, religion, sex or economic background. Education is acquired by the student The Clear Fork Valley Foundation, in an effort to recognize academic excellence in both college preparatory and vocational education programs, established the Senior Scholarship program. These scholarships awarded to graduating seniors are based on criteria established for each individual scholarship. A student is eligible to receive only one Senior Scholarship. Senior Academic Scholarships are selected and scored with a composite value based on ACT scores, overall Grade Point Average, and the GPA of the specific discipline. This criterion is designed to objectively measure academic performance. Senior Academic Scholarships include: 2 for Mathematics, Science, English, Business, Agricultural Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, 2 for Art, Home Economics, Foreign Language, and Industrial Technology. Endowed Senior Scholarships The G.F. Stodt Family Math Scholarship-1992, The Richland Bank Business Scholar- ship-1994, The Stephen Dean Smith Memorial Agricultural Scholarship-1994, The Harold McCuen Arts and Humanitarian Scholarship-1994, The Clifford Clog Scholarship in Math-1996, and The Ruth B. Niss Scholarship of the Arts-1997. Humanitarian Scholarships The John and Elizabeth Bellan Humanitarian Scholarship-1996, and the Steven John Bryant Scholarship-1996. These scholarships may reflect criteria based on the wishes of the endowing family. A Graduate Scholarship The Agnes and Paul Spayde Scholarship for Elementary or Secondary Education is directed toward the new college graduate with a major in Education. Applications are available on the Bellville and Butler Post Office Bulletin Boards. This scholarship is awarded in the fall of the year! Summer Enrichment Scholarships These scholarships enable Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High School applicants to pursue their educational interests beyond those programs offered by the school system. They are not to be used to fund tuition for courses offered as a part of the school cirriculum. They enable students to meet, work and compete with other students locally, statewide and nationally. To qualify, the program must be educational in nature. Teacher references are considered in the selection process. The Foundation will award a maximum of 50% of the program's tuition cost. Financial need and other available grant and tuition monies are considered when determine the amount to be awarded to an individual student. Applications are available in each school through a teacher representative. These scholarships are awarded both in the spring and in the fall! Go To Page: 1 2
