The NSLP

The NSLP also offers helpful tips regarding the repayment of student loans, and the common pitfalls that cause many of the loans to go into default. I have illustrated some of the tips that they offer on their website for you below:

"Here are some tips to making borrowing and paying back your loan simpler:

Borrow only what you need. Use the same lender every time you borrow. Expect multiple disbursements of your loan. Notify your lender if you change your name, address or phone number. Don't ignore your loan payment, even if you can't afford the entire amount. Contact your lender to see if there is help available"

As you can see, there is a lot of information to be obtained on this website, and I would strongly encourage a visit for students attending anywhere in the country, even though it is geared mostly for students attending college in Nebraska.
