For Those That Need It Most - Part 1This week begins a three-part series in which I will be discussing with you scholarships and awards tailored only to women and minorities. Why am I doing this? Statistically, women and minorities are those that need aid the most, and in the spirit of that I am providing as much comprehensive information that I can to help you help yourself. This article is devoted wholly to women and scholarships for them. I began my research on the "Scholarships for Women and Minorities" homepage http://members.aol.com/ox13qr/webpages/e... , and found good information and great links. I highly recommend beginning your search here also. If you are a woman thinking about becoming an engineer, I would suggest visiting The Society of Women Engineers Scholarship Program at http://www.swe.org/SWE/StudentServices/S... . To be eligible you must be a woman majoring in Engineering or Computer Science in an ABET accredited program or a SWE approved institution. The following is a list of all scholarships and grants offered by the SWE for incoming freshman only: 1.
