Every lesson that needs to be taught is. And no one gets away without punishment. Not even the sole survivor, Hugo. As the movie ends and we watch Hugo get taken away, his thoughts come out to us. Even though O is dead Hugo still envies him. Hugo still manages to find a way to idolize and hate him.

If there are parents out there reading this, let me tell you something. You’re worried about your children becoming desensitized. You’re worried films like this may give them ideas. You’re worried about the wrong films. Take a look at this movie. It’s certainly not the best Shakespeare adaptation, but it’s the most satisfying violence I’ve seen in some time. The violence is not there to entertain. It exists in O to teach a lesson.
