Shopping Online, Philippine style!Shopping Online, Philippine style! Many of us Filipinos like to shop. Oftentimes, the big malls in Manila are so crowded, you literally bump into people coming your way. Whether you're just window shopping, bargain shopping or power shopping, there's always something to do in those malls. I am going to talk about how a lot of Filipinos do their shopping nowadays. This is specifically about Filipinos who are not in the Philippines, looking for certain stuff that they cannot find anywhere near their area. Of course, there are also a lot of Filipinos who live in major cities that are mainly comprised of Filipino residents (and other Asians), so there's always a Filipino/Asian store nearby. But what about some unlucky ones who live quite far away from those areas? Don't despair, because... you can always shop online, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. Looking for a certain item that you can't find anywhere in the U.S. stores? For sure, you'll find it at an online store. There is a sudden mushrooming of online stores that are geared towards the Asian consumers (and in this case, Filipinos) . Come with me, as we walk around the virtual malls and palengke's online, and as I review each and every site. I am NOT affiliated with any of these sites. http://www.PilipinoSuperstore.com The site is part of Yahoo Shopping. I feel very safe whenever I shop in a Yahoo Shopping site. PilipinoSuperstore.com offers a wide variety of entertainment merchandise. They offer Tagalog movies (in DVD, VHS and VCD formats), Filipino magazines, Filipino books, OPM CD's, phone cards (with very reasonable rates and prices), and some novelty items. They also sell TFC (The Filipino Channel) subscriptions. Check this store out yourself, and I bet you would not get disappointed. Another web-worthy online store I like is http://www.divisoria.com They are a top-service site on Yahoo Shopping. They offer some similar products (movies, cds, books) but a great feature on this site is the Gifts to the Philippines section. You get to choose among several different gift baskets you want delivered to the door of your family and friends in the Philippines. You tell them when you want it delivered, and, that's it! A hassle-free way to send gifts to the Philippines. You can even buy letchon (Philippine-style roasted pig) and have it delivered to your loved ones. This site was nominated in the Philippine Web Awards 2001 (http://www.philippinewebawards.com/) Looking for the famous Philippine parols for Christmas? You can find it in this site
