May 14 2001 Philippine Elections

The May 14, 2001 Philippine Elections is coming up pretty soon. I recently found some websites that are focused on the elections. Some are funny, while some are very serious.

Join me, as I review and check out these sites.

The first site I am going to review is Pinoyelections.com I like the site design, plus all the information they offer. They have a mock polling booth, voters profiles, an election forum, and funny stories, and election anecdotes. They also list some election-related laws in their site. They even have a FREEDOM WALL wherein you can write and campaign for your favorite candidates. Overall, I think Pinoyelections is an interesting find, and I suggest that you take a look and see for yourself.

The second site that I am reviewing, is called Philvoter.com Just like Pinoyelections, it has some election-related laws, and some articles that came straight out of the Philippine Constitution. I like the way they give candidate profiles. They feature a picture of the candidate, plus birthdate, address and their platform of government.

Another election-related site is called Halalan2001.com Halalan means Elections in English. They have a VoterSpeak Discussion forum, a list of political parties, a senatorial mock poll, election laws and rules, voters education, and of course, a list of positions and candidates. They also offer a download section for the Halalan2001 screensaver and a few wallpapers.

And last, but not the least, is a site called 2001Elections.org They have a countdown to the elections, and basically the same features as the other sites above. They also offer tips on choosing the right candidates to vote for.

I also found this site called Am I TraPo or Not? It is a parody of Am I Hot or Not? (www.hotornot.com) You can find this Am I TraPo or Not? site at http://www.peyups.com/trapo TraPo means Traditional Politician. Take a look and find out for yourself what I mean.

For those who are going to vote this May 14, I advise you to conduct research as much as possible, and vote wisely.
