Survival Guide for Busy Fil Am MomsRule #2: Be Organized. This is probably one of the hardest things to do. It is so much easier to get caught up with the flow of daily routine that the tendency is to just do things as you go along. Certain tasks may be accomplished, but it is almost guaranteed there will be other things that can easily be forgotten. One way to get started on being organized is by writing down five or six things in order of highest priority to the least, preferably at night before you go to bed. Although, I picked this up from a business seminar, it can apply to a Living the Lives of Busy Women seminar. Having an idea of what your day will be like makes a big difference. Planning ahead with meals, errands and activities will save time, money and a lot of negative energy. Rule #3: Don't Forget Yourself. You may expect your husband to take care of you, but the truth is, if you don't take care of yourself first, no one else will. It's a challenge enough for the hubbies to remember birthdays and anniversaries. Overseeing your total well-being, which includes your emotional, spiritual and physical health, may be a tall order for the man of your life. Find out what it is that gives you pleasure. It's the little things that count. If it's a book, find the time to read. If it's a cup of coffee or tea, take the time to make one, have a seat and savor the moment. If it's the movies, rent one from Blockbuster or borrow one from the public library. Here's the best part. It's ok to reward yourself every now and then. Go for that new wallet or bag you've been wanting, or that new shade of lipstick Clinique or Revlon came out with. Just stay within your budget, it doesn't have to be expensive. The point is when you don't feel deprived and you are recharged, the better mother and wife you will be. You will be a better person, period. Rule# 4: Take Pride. Not every woman is called to be a wife or mother. Neither role is easy and the fact that you have been entrusted with either or both role is something to take pride in. You just have to recognize that the smile on your child's face and that someone you wake up next to every morning
