Reflections

You will please pardon me, if my zest for writing on this topic has temporarily deserted me in the wake of Tuesday's tragedy in New York. Life goes on for those of us left behind. However, the knowledge that the world will never be the same again cannot be shaken.

There had always been questions regarding identity, purpose, and finding one's self. All because you are of a different heritage living in an adopted country. All because people are grouped under different races and categories. In my case, I knew which to pick on those forms --Asian/Pacific Islander. All these concerns paled against what happened on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

People have lost their lives in a senseless attack. Hatred. Differences. Madness. These words came to mind. However, there was also the realization that we belong to only one category. In the final analysis, we all fall under one classification: Mankind.

In face of such a tragedy, there is no black, white, yellow, nor brown. We are just God's people who want to live in peace.
