Lola Means Grandma

Twenty-one years later, it is only now that I realize how her fussing and nagging was the one constant force that held me together during a very confusing time. We made it through the every day of a strange new life with the help of her prodding and care. She was the ever present figure in a life full of changes. As Filipinos, grandparents are a critical part of the family. We were fortunate to have our Lola take care of us while growing up. Although it has not been often said, "Thank you, Lola, for having been there."
