What Do We Tell Our Children?
Someday the Filipinos will not just be the Forgotten Asians of the American society. But that is why it is important that we answer the questions our children ask us with the level of gravity they demanded. Our children are the steps that will be taken to that Someday. What did I tell my son? The truth. I told him, yes you are different and your eyes are slightly slanted. No, you are not Chinese but Filipino. Well, maybe of Chinese descent. And it is perfectly okay to be different. Everyone is different and special in their own way. Just as you are unique but very, very special. No need to change anything.
