In the interpretive free skate, the men were limited to four triple jumps. Their results were:
1. Todd Eldredge, who successfully landed his first quad jump in competition! This was a tremendous milestone for Todd, as he can finally get credit for this amazing feat. His program was beautifully timed to his music, and included a superb triple axel/double toe loop combination.
2. Alexei Yagudin, who stepped out of a triple axel.
3. Ilia Kulik, displaying incredible body control and does his own choreography. Despite turning out of a triple flip, he showed amazing flexibility and innovation.

The Ladies interpretive free skate produced the following results:
1. Michelle Kwan, who won her third straight masters championship.
2. Irina Slutskaya
3. Yuka Sato
4. Maria Butyrskaya
5. Lu Chen
With the Skate America airing on Sunday, Oct. 29, this was an excellent introduction to the fall 2000 season. With only 15 months until the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, this season promises to be an exceptional one. Congratulations to Todd Eldredge for landing his first quad jump in competition.
