If its been a while since you've ridden a bicycle, you might consider looking at the newer "anatomically correct" models for women. Terry Precision Cycling makes women specific bicycles down to the saddle. In addition to testing Terry's Symmetry, I tested their leather Butterfly with Titanium rails. I especially liked the textured surface which reduced sliding on the seat. Very comfortable and excellent for climbing hills because your legs don't chafe. This saddle is so unique for women that other top manafacturers include this same saddle as standard equipment on their higher end, women's road bicycles. However, make no mistake, Terry's Symmetry Road Bicycle is the BEST road bicycle I've ridden to date. They did it first and they do it best. Everything from the smaller brake levers to adjusting for the shorter top bar has been considered. It weighs 270 grams with tubular manganese rails. The leather saddle is anatomically designed to be one of the most comfortable gender specific saddles on the market today. What's new this year is athletic wear that transitions from the bicycle or road to lunch or a summer evening out. Both Terry and Athleta dominate in this area. Terry's 2005 clothing line for women cyclists includes gorgeous "in your face colors", bold prints and figure enhancing designs. Most notably, their Pro Racer Skort, is by far the hottest thing to come along in years. The skirt itself is a silky feeling sanded polyester micro fiber that refuses to wrinkle. A Lycra triangle in the rear eases pressure and provides a more custom fit. However it's what's under the skirt that counts. A pair of Terry bike shorts with Ultimate Chamois, comfy Terry Gripper at the leg openings and a flat, covered thigh pocket complete the package. Same is true of their cycling jerseys. They are beautiful enough to wear anywhere and their Relaxed Tank has an invisible rear zippered pocket giving you the option of wearing on or off the bike.
