Making Choices

Now is the time to make a difference. How, the first step is to understand that all that we do resonates throughout the world and take responsilibility for our actions. I've take a major stpe in this direction by completing my Permaculture Design Certificate. This education that I received while earning this document enables me to design sustainable living systems and to work towards feeding myself and living in harmony with all Life, at the same time. I can actually repair the earth as I work with Nature to grow the food my family needs.

I feel that this is a major step towards self-reliance and am pleased that I can share my permaculture knowledge with others. I sense that this is especially important after reading the short associated press article in our local paper, with the headline: "Suspected mad cow case at McDonald's". Now, I'm a vegetarian, so mad cow disease is not likely to harm me directly, but it does questions about how beef cattle are raised.

Over the past weks I have been looking at how food si processed on its journey from the field to your table and while it appears that mad cow disease is, for now, not likely to travel to North America, it doesn't reassure me that it can't happen and it says nothing about those who eat meat and travel. As I have written previously on mad cow disease and e.coli, I won't say anymore here about it. You, as always, must make your own decisions and draw your own conclusions.

So I'll turn my attention to my new business, because, I sense there will be a shift in the article s that appear here each week and want people to see why. My company is called Four Frogs Permaculture Design and in addition to assissting people to create their own sustainable living systems, i will be working with people who are interested in starting a small business, to help them ensure that the business they create is green.

Next week, food and your ecological footprint.
