A Walk through the 12 Steps: Step 12 - Page 2

If I had not developed fibromyalgia, I would still be working as a nurse, struggling to find the time and energy to do all that I felt must be done each day. My solitude would be limited, and my writing would probably never materialize beyond the occasional article or random entry in a journal. By using the 12 Steps in relationship to my fibromyalgia, I have discovered a deeper spirituality within myself, and am learning to care for my own emotional needs in a more positive manner.

The 12 Steps are not something that can be explored, analysed, and practiced in a short period of time. They require time, thought, and practice. They are a journey that will last a lifetime, and each time we work on a Step, we will discover something new about ourselves. Our futures are unwritten books, but with the help of the 12 Steps, support from others who are also travelling on the same path of self-discovery, we will fill the empty pages with a life that is rich in love, positive thoughts, and spiritual well-being.
