One wonderful easy way to make lovely picture frames and ornaments for the Holidays is to use fabric decoupage. You simply have an under laminate like cardboard to give the object form, and then use glue soaked fabric to paste on for design and color.
Directions: The process is easy. To make a picture frame, cut it to shape desired. Then mark and cut a hole large enough to reveal your photo or picture. Soak cloth pieces in white glue mixture and then paste on cardboard in design. It could be a quilt pattern or just random elements --- all will look nice!
Let it dry. Paste down any loose ends. Let dry again.
To mount the photo just tack into place on the back of the frame with photo tape. Then back the frame with plain paste board either glued or taped in place.
You now have a lovely framed piece.
To make a holiday wreath use the same process using green fabric. Bunch it to suggest texture as it will dry this way. Then embellish with little bells, or red berries.
Other ornaments can be made the same way. Have fun!
If fabric decoupage doesn’t excite you then here are some of my most popular holiday patterns!
